The Bachelor’s Locky Gilbert sets the record straight on rumours he secretly proposed to girlfriend Irena Srbinovska
His romance with Irena Srbinovska has gone from strength to strength ever since they declared their love for each other during last year’s finale of The Bachelor.
And on Tuesday, Locky Gilbert set the record straight on the persistent rumours the couple are secretly engaged.
The 31-year-old brushed off the speculation, telling Now To Love on Tuesday: ‘Going off all the tabloids, I proposed to her every single day.’

Locky clarified that a viral photo of Irena seemingly with a ring on her wedding finger wasn’t anything to write her home about.
The ring, featuring a large purple gem flanked on each side by marquise-shaped jewels, was in fact the same commitment ring he gave her in the Bachelor finale.
He explained the ring is often confused with an engagement ring because images are reversed when taking selfies on an iPhone.

The former Australian Survivor star, who is travelling around Australia with Irena, went on to say his girlfriend was definitely marriage material.
He said: ‘We’re just travelling at the moment, we’re still getting to know each other.
‘I definitely want to marry Irena but when the proposal comes everyone will have to wait for that one.’

Rumours about the couple’s relationship status have been swirling for months.
A few weeks ago, Locky shared a selfie with Irena on Instagram Stories in which she displayed her purple commitment ring on her hand.
This photo led many fans to wrongly conclude the pair were engaged .
Speculation of the couple’s engagement stems after they went public with their relationship on The Bachelor. In November, Irena had to clarify to fans they were not yet engaged after a photo featuring the purple sparkler on hand was shared on Instagram
In an interview with The Daily Telegraph in December, Locky referred to Irena as his ‘soulmate’ and said they ‘will get married’ in the future.
‘We want to spend the rest of our lives together, we will get married eventually,’ he added.
‘We are extremely happy together. I have never wanted to say soulmate or anything like that but when I look at Irena, she is definitely my soulmate.’
