The Bachelor’s Jimmy Nicholson is left red-faced when he finally gets to meet Carrie Bickmore – after revealing The Project host is his celebrity crush

The Bachelor’s Jimmy Nicholson was left blushing on Wednesday night when he finally got to meet Carrie Bickmore on The Project.

Jimmy, 31, came face-to-face with the Logie Award-winning presenter, 40, for the first time mere days after he confessed she was his number one celebrity crush.

The awkward interview kicked off with co-host Peter Helliar asking Jimmy how meeting 24 contestants on The Bachelor compared to meeting Carrie – and it went downhill from there.

‘Hi, Jimmy,’ Carrie quickly interjected, before Pete commented, ‘Oh the chemistry! Where are the roses?’

‘I tried to get the roses delivered but they couldn’t make it happen,’ replied Jimmy.

‘You obvious have a girlfriend now and Carrie, are you in a long-term relationship…’ Peter added, before Carrie hit back, ‘What are you suggesting?’

‘A double date!’ Pete laughed.

‘That is weird, Pete,’ an embarrassed Carrie replied before she decided to change the topic by asking Jimmy another question.

‘You say your parents are still in love to this day. Is that what made you want to go on the show?’ she asked.

‘Yes, my parents have been married for over 40 years, when the opportunity presented itself, I thought this is the real deal. They get great girls on this show and they source them from all around Australia,’ said Jimmy.

‘I want what my parents have. As you can see in the snippets, it is really nice and I think I have found her,’ Jimmy answered.

But things took an awkward turn towards the end of the chat with Carrie admitting, ‘They left the last question for me to ask about the Mile High Club, which was really weird.’

‘I would never expect that from you, Carrie,’ Jimmy laughed off.

Jimmy’s encounter comes just days after he told news.com.au that he considers the mother-of-three ‘wife material’ and that he had a crush on her.

‘I just think she looks like a really nice person and she’s very beautiful. She’s wife material,’ he said at the time.

Carrie is in a relationship with Chris Walker.

The couple are parents to two daughters, Evie and Adelaide, and her teenage son Oliver, from her marriage to Greg Lange.
