Inside The Block’s $4.2million home everyone in Australia is talking about – as Channel Nine scrambles to find a new buyer after mysterious ‘tech queen’ Emese Fajk failed to pay

The Block winners Jimmy and Tam Wilkins have lost their $1million prize and been forced to put their Melbourne home back on the market after its buyer failed to pay.

The married ‘battlers’ from Brisbane renovated their property at 360A New Street in Brighton with quirky 1950s-style touches and went for a self-described ‘Palm Springs vibe’.

The master bedroom features a fireplace with exposed bricks, pink and grey feature wallpaper and a unique wooden bed with pink furnishings.

The master ensuite is every pink lover’s dream and has a double shower with gold hardware and pink tiles, as well as an abundance of leafy green plants.

The upstairs guest bedroom features a pink bed and a striking green leaf wallpaper.

Sticking to their eclectic style, Jimmy and Tam styled the kitchen with mint green cupboards, a charcoal benchtop and brass finishings.

The stunning outdoor space is complete with a white table and chairs, a barbecue area and a private pool.

Cyber security specialist Emese Fajk, 28, was the mystery buyer who bought Jimmy and Tam’s winning property during The Block’s finale last month.

Ms Fajk presented receipts of bank transfers indicating the money for the home had gone through, but the large sum never reached Channel Nine’s bank accounts.

The settlement period for the property, which fetched $4.256million on auction day at a profit of $966,000, has now passed and the original contract is void.

The devastated couple choked back tears as they told A Current Affair how they’d been left blindsided by the strange turn of events.

‘Here we are now not knowing what’s going to happen. It’s something no one ever saw coming, no one ever expected, but it’s something we now have to deal with,’ Jimmy said.

When confronted by Nine reporter Alison Piotrowski, Ms Fajk insisted she had paid the deposit for the property and had receipts to prove it.

Regardless of what happened, the home is now back on the market.

Jimmy and Tam, as well as Channel Nine, are hoping to secure a sale that either matches or exceeds Ms Fajk’s now-voided $4.256million offer.

Buyer’s advocate Nicole Jacobs told Domain she’d had several interested parties at last month’s auction, but they have all since purchased.

‘The buyers we represented on the day of the auction are no longer available to buy property there – they have since purchased,’ Ms Jacobs said.

‘We represent clients at this level, we will be speaking to as many people as possible. We have already been doing that.’

Fortunately for Jimmy and Tam, another of the buyer’s advocates on the show, Greville Pabst, said the housing market was strong and many similar listings have been selling.
