The Block: Jimmy and Tam reveal the most ‘heartbreaking’ part of being duped

The Block’s Jimmy and Tam Wilkins reveal the most ‘heartbreaking’ part of being duped by ‘conwoman’ Emese Fajk – as host Scott Cam vows it will ‘never happen again’

The Block’s Jimmy and Tam Wilkins have revealed the most gut-wrenching part of being duped by Emese Fajk – the so-called ‘conwoman’ who placed the winning bid on their Brighton house last year but then failed to pay.

The Noosa couple, who this week sold their renovated Palm Springs-inspired home to a legitimate buyer for $4million, told Thursday’s A Current Affair that Ms Fajk’s deception was made worse by the fact they’d bonded after auction day.

The enigmatic cyber security expert, 28, even met Jimmy and Tam’s daughter, Frankie.

‘I felt like I trusted her, she met our daughter. It was heartbreaking. It was absolutely heartbreaking,’ said Tam.

But she and Jimmy are moving past the scandal, having sold their home for $4million after eight months on the market with the help of some ‘great real estate agents’.

The new owners of the 1950s-style, five-bedroom Brighton townhouse are a local family, reports The Herald Sun.

Earlier this month, Jimmy and Tam revealed they were still getting their record-breaking $966,000 prize money after last year’s sale fell through.

In January, New Idea claimed The Block host Scott Cam had ‘saved the day’ by secretly purchasing the home for himself after Ms Fajk failed to pay the $4.2million she’d pledged on auction day.

However, his manager Chris Giannopoulos told Daily Mail Australia the rumours were ‘not to believed’ and that Mr Cam did not purchase the property.

Meanwhile, the 58-year-old revealed on Thursday The Block was implementing new measures to make sure no one ever tries an auction-day scam again.

‘We will try and put some things in place for next auction to make sure that doesn’t happen again,’ he told A Current Affair.

The Block’s latest season just wrapped filming in Hampton, Melbourne, and will air on Channel Nine later this year.
