The Hills’ Lo Bosworth reveals she secretly suffered a traumatic brain injury two years ago and still struggles ‘to recall words from time to time’

  • ‘I was in the hospital and suffered a moderate to severe concussion for months. I took weeks off work and the road to recovery was long,’ the Love Wellness wrote, before noting the severities of her injuries
  • A few weeks later, Bosworth found herself ‘feeling totally lost on 3rd avenue and 21st street’ and not sure ‘which direction to walk in’
  • ‘I still struggle to recall words from time to time and get my thoughts out coherently 2 years later,’ she admitted

The Hills alum, 34, also opened up to her Instagram followers about still having trouble recalling words and difficulty expressing her thoughts, at times.

‘2 years ago in March I suffered a traumatic brain injury I didn’t tell you guys about,’ the reality star captioned a video of her doing an at-home workout.

She continued: ‘I was at a restaurant in lower Manhattan (which shall remain nameless bc accidents happen) and while sitting in a banquet had one of the swinging kitchen doors fall off it’s hinges and on to my head.’

‘I was in the hospital and suffered a moderate to severe concussion for months. I took weeks off work and the road to recovery was long,’ the Love Wellness wrote, before noting the severities of her injuries. 

A few weeks after the incident, Bosworth found herself ‘feeling totally lost on 3rd avenue and 21st street’ and not sure ‘which direction to walk in.’

‘I still struggle to recall words from time to time and get my thoughts out coherently 2 years later,’ she added.  

She elaborated: ‘THEN, I found out I had mononucleosis on top of it all. Also didn’t tell you guys that. One day I had to put my head down on my desk at work because of sheer exhaustion and fell asleep.’

Bosworth said she ‘laid in bed for months and months whenever I could while continuing to work full-time’ at her company Love Wellness.

‘Long story short, one of the reasons I’ve been so committed to healthy eating and fitness since the pandemic started is because it took a full year from the head injury + mono for me to be in a place where I could even consider exercising with regularity,’ she explained. 

The entrepreneur concluded her message by saying the post is a reminder that health is ‘precious and sometimes taken for granted.’ 

‘If you have it, take advantage of it. All my love,’ she told her fans.

In response, Venus Williams commented ‘happy to see you doing well and recovering and inspiring others!’

‘I also have memory issues/ lose my words due to brain fog from autoimmune issues. I know the feeling!’ the tennis player, who suffers from Sjogren’s syndrome, admitted. 

In 2017, Bosworth spoke about battling depression and anxiety on her blog, The Lo Down.  

‘Can you imagine having a 60 day long panic attack? I can now – I lived it,’ she wrote after suffering from a ‘racing mind, impulsive behavior and insomnia for ‘almost two months without any relief.’
