The Project’s Lisa Wilkinson reveals the ‘glamorous’ side of television as she films a live cross from a ‘broom cupboard’ and uses an ironing board as a makeshift desk

Lisa Wilkinson has done it all over her stellar media career.

And on Thursday night, the veteran TV presenter filmed The Project from a ‘broom cupboard’ and used an ironing board as a makeshift desk.  

The 61-year-old media powerhouse gave viewers an exclusive glimpse of the magic of television at work when she shared a behind-the-scenes image to Instagram.

In the accompanying image Lisa is shown sitting in front of a makeshift green screen using an ironing board for her desk. 

She is sporting a casual chic ensemble featuring a floral Rebecca Vallance blouse, black pants and scuffed white sneakers from Golden Goose, as a smattering of cables snake across the floor. 

Her brunette locks are styled into loose curls and she has a full face of makeup on including a smokey eye and pink lipstick, as potato chips appear in reaching distance.

‘Come and work in television they said! It’s so glamorous they said,’ she captioned the hilarious post. 

‘Coming to you live from the famous Sydney @theprojecttv broom cupboard tonight…ironing board and all. (Such a bugger I didn’t bring that basket of clean washing I’ve got at home.)’ 

Last month, Lisa enjoyed a trip to the cinema for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic began to see The Dry with her daughter, Billi FitzSimons.

Posting to Instagram the media personality shared a sweet photo of herself and her daughter ahead of the film screening.

‘First time at an actual picture theatre in more than 12 months,’ she captioned the post.

Abiding by the previous COVID-19 restrictions, the mother/daughter duo sported matching disposable face masks for the outing.
