The Project’s Peter Helliar accuses co-host Carrie Bickmore of lying after she makes a confession

The Project’s Carrie Bickmore made a confession on Monday night.

The 36-year-old presenter revealed to viewers that she’d never had an espresso martini before.

But on Tuesday, her co-host Peter Helliar confronted Carrie about her claim and proved that she had actually tried the coffee-infused beverage.

‘There was a comment made last night on this show and you said Carrie [‘I’ve never had an espresso martini’],’ Pete said.

He then presented Carrie with a picture of herself holding an espresso martini in one hand.

‘Do you remember this at our Christmas party a couple of years ago?’ he asked.

The mother-of-two burst into laughter and admitted: ‘I’ll be honest – who remembers anything that happens at the Christmas party?’

Pete then presented Carrie with another photo which also showed her holding the beverage while posing.

Carrie revealed that her friend had also texted her the previous night saying she gave her an espresso martini last year.

‘I have no recollection!’ Carrie admitted.

This month, New Idea published a feature about what it’s like working with some of Australia’s biggest TV stars, including Carrie.

An unnamed staffer said that while Carrie comes off as the sweet girl next door, she is actually quite reserved when she’s not in work mode.

The mother-of-two is apparently so focused on work that she rarely has time for small talk, which means she is perceived by some colleagues as a ‘snob’.
