The Wiggles star Jeff Fatt wears his iconic purple skivvy as he takes part in Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras

Jeff Fatt is best know as ‘the Purple Wiggle’ despite retiring from the children’s group The Wiggles in 2012. 

On Saturday, the 67-year-old was on a different stage as he walked in the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras at the Sydney Cricket Ground. 

The entertainer donned a fashionable version of the iconic purple skivvy he wore while a member of The Wiggles.

The turtleneck included strips of shiny fabric for a chic look, and appears to be the same top he previously wore on stage with the group. 

Jeff beamed as he joined others marching in the parade, and even shot his classic ‘wiggly’ hand gestures at the crowd. 

Late last year, the fan favourite temporarily Lachlan ‘Lachy’ Gillespie while he took some time off following the birth of his twin daughters.

The star decided to return to the band to film a four-part series, The Wiggly World of Dance Classes. 

Jeff retired from the children’s group in 2012, but decided to fill in for Lachy while he enjoys some bonding time with his new babies.

It was a health scare in July 2011 that inspired Jeff’s decision to quit.

He was rushed to hospital for emergency heart surgery after blacking out behind the wheel of his car and crashing into a tree.

Eventually, he was diagnosed with arrhythmia – an irregular heartbeat – and was fitted with a pacemaker after surgery.

Jeff told Perth Now in October 2011: ‘There have been a few complications with the recovery. I still have a blood clot in my neck and I’m on blood thinners but I’m feeling really good.’
