‘This is my first day out of bed in three weeks’: This Morning’s Alice Beer reveals she’s contracted ‘horrid’ Covid from one of her twin daughters

Alice Beer has revealed she’s contracted ‘horrid’ coronavirus from one of her twin daughters.

During her virtual appearance on Monday’s This Morning, the journalist, 55, admitted her battle has been ‘tough’ as she detailed her diagnosis to Holly Willoughby’s stand-in host Rochelle Humes and Phillip Schofield.

The consumer expert confessed the live link interview marked her ‘first day out of bed in three weeks’ and called the virus ‘horrid’.

Alice – who shares Phoebe and Dora, 17, with husband Paul Pascoe – explained: ‘One of my daughter’s gave it to me as a Christmas present, thank you Dora.

‘I’m now week three and it’s been tough. This is my first day out of bed in three weeks. It’s a really horrid thing, you can come through it though.’

Despite her symptoms, the media personality – who coughed throughout her segment – still managed to celebrate the Christmas season with her loved ones.

Viewers took to Twitter to wish the presenter and fellow correspondent Matthew Wright – who suspects he and his family have COVID-19 – a speedy recovery.

The pandemic has affected many people across the globe, and Alice previously became emotional as she reunited with her father for the first time in 12 weeks following the first nationwide lockdown.

In June, the broadcaster surprised her dad, Ivan, live on air at his Hertfordshire home, after restrictions had kept them apart.

When Ivan saw his beloved daughter, he hilariously asked: ‘What are you doing here? You could have warned me!’

Alice joked: ‘At least you’re not in your pyjamas. You are in your slippers though. Are you OK?’

Keeping to social distancing measures, the writer said: ‘I’m not allowed to give you a hug though.’
