Thrill-seeker SKIS along a snow-covered London street – towed behind a Mercedes van

Now THAT’S off-piste! Thrill-seeker skis along a snow-covered London street towed behind a Mercedes van

  • Man skied down road in Northolt, west London, being pulled along by a van
  • Carly Gayford, 34, was out playing with her daughter when she spotted him
  • London shivered in -3C temperatures as snow fell in the capital at the weekend

This is the hilarious moment a daring skier was spotted zigzagging along the snowy streets of London.

The funny video was captured by a mother as she filmed her daughter playing in the snow that fell over the weekend.

London did not receive as much snow as some other parts of the country but, unusually, the shivering -3C temperatures on Sunday meant the white stuff settled across the capital.

In the footage, taken on a residential street in Northolt, children are seen enjoying themselves on snow-covered playing fields.

A man has been spotted skiing down a snow-covered road in Northolt, west London, while being pulled on a rope by a van

A Mercedes van then drives by, quickly followed by a man wearing on skis.

The unidentified skier is holding a tow rope which appears to be attached inside the vehicle as the back door of the van is open.

Mother Carly Gayford, 34, who captured the bizarre moment said: ‘We were out playing in the snow, having lots of fun!’

‘I was with my daughter, then a van went past with a man on skis riding along on the back.

‘We heard lots of laughter and then saw why, we were very surprised and shocked but then we just couldn’t stop laughing!’

Parts of Britain could see even more snow later this week, while milder weather in other areas could bring renewed flooding misery with gales and a week-long deluge of heavy rain expected.

The snowfall over the past few days has been the heaviest for two years.

Snow depths reached 6.3in (16cm) at Wittering in Lincolnshire on Sunday, and 3in (7.6cm) was recorded in Warwickshire and Bedfordshire the same day.

Up to 2in (5cm) of snow was recorded further west, in Powys, Shropshire, Gloucestershire. and Somerset.

There were less impressive flurries in London, with 0.4in (1cm) at Heathrow Airport.
