Tiger Woods is undergoing surgery after sustaining ‘multiple leg injuries’ in a serious car crash in Los Angeles on Tuesday morning.

The 45-year-old golfer was driving alone near Rancho Palos Verdes when his vehicle flipped over at 7.12am.

He appears to have then careered off the road, uphill, landing on a grassy verge.

Fire fighters had to use a device known as the ‘jaws of life’ to break open the car and rescue him.

His condition is not known but his agent Mark Steinberg told Golf Digest: ‘Tiger Woods was in a single-car accident this morning in California where he suffered multiple leg injuries.

‘He is currently in surgery and we thank you for your privacy and support.’

It occurred shortly after 7am and no one else was injured.

Woods was previously arrested on a DUI in 2017. The cause of Tuesday’s crash is unknown.

Woods lives in Florida but was in California for a two-day content shoot with Golf Digest/GOLFTV.

He spent Monday golfing with David Spade and Jada Pinkett Smith.
