Today host Karl Stefanovic is shocked as a guest asks, ‘Have you had a facelift?’

Today show host Karl Stefanovic was left rather embarrassed after an elderly guest asked on Monday if he’d had a facelift.

The 46-year-old was put on the spot while interviewing Noela MacLeod, who was promoting the Country Women’s Association’s new book, Thrifty Household.

As Noela revealed that her favourite cleaning hack was using banana skins as boot polish, co-anchor Allison Langdon asked her if she had any personal questions for Karl.

‘I believe you had a very important question for the crew about Karl. What did you want to know?’ Allison said, prompting the question.

Noela then said cheerfully: ‘I wanted to know, has he had a facelift?’ 

The rather personal question prompted an eruption of laughter in the studio as Karl responded: ‘That’s a bit rude… of course I have!’

‘Because he looks so young!’ Noela clarified, to which Karl replied: ‘Oh, you’re sweet.’

Allison then pushed Noela a little further, asking whether she thought the father of four was ‘handsome’ or not.

‘Well, I don’t know… handsome is in the eye of the beholder,’ she said, which prompted Allison to say she’d done a good job of ‘dodging’ the question.  

‘You’re fantastic,’ Karl added. ‘We’re going to get you on every week.’

While there’s no suggestion Karl has had a facelift, there has been speculation he’s undergone a hair transplant. 

However, a source close to the journalist denied the rumours to Daily Mail Australia in April, saying: ‘It’s just completely untrue. 

‘He doesn’t know where this has come from. The idea he spent $55,000 on hair plugs is absolutely ludicrous. If he paid $55,000 for that he’d want his money back.’ 

That same month, the same source also denied rumours Karl had dyed his hair black.

The hair plug rumour first started in 2017, when the Sydney Morning Herald reported that he’d undergone a transplant because he was feeling ‘pressure’ to look younger.
