Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen take a tour of their $17M beachfront property in Miami

Tom Brady and wife Gisele Bündchen are pictured touring their new property in Miami Beach as they make plans to build a new home for their family.

The NFL player and his supermodel wife paid $17 million for the property, which is in a prime waterfront location on Indian Creek Island, also known as Billionaire Bunker.

On Monday the couple walked around the property with their architect and design team. They plan on demolishing the current property and starting afresh with their own eco-friendly design.

Bündchen, 40, was seen in flowy linen pants and a cream camisole and Brady, 43, was seen in a striped T-shirt and black pants as they strolled around the lush green grounds of the lot.

The lot spans approximately two acres with 200 feet of ocean views.

Additionally the couple will have access to the ultra exclusive country club on the island with a golf course.

The purchase was first reported in December with more details revealed about the couple’s grand designs.

The couple have plans to tear down the current structure on the premises and erect a state-of-the-art eco-friendly mansion built like the one they formerly owned in Brentwood, California, (before selling it to Dr. Dre).

‘They like to build from the ground up,’ a source told Page Six of Brady and Bundchen, who are parents to son Benjamin, 11, and daughter Vivian, eight; while Brady is father to 13-year-old son John ‘Jack’ Edward Thomas with actress Bridget Moynahan, 49.

They are said to be avid design fans and love to obsesses over details such as different doorknob styles. For Brazilian beauty Bundchen, it’s particularly important to her that the property is ‘ecologically sound’.

The island, off the coast of Miami, got the nickname ‘Billionaire Bunker’ because of the high-profile residents that have settled onto the island.

Their neighbors will include Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump who paid $31 million for land on the island. Hotel magnate Jeffrey Soffer and supermodel Adriana Lima also have homes there.

Indian Creek Village holds the reputation as ‘the world’s most exclusive municipality.’ The island has only 34 homes, around 42 residents and its own private 13-person police force.

The local authorities run patrols around the island on land and an around-the-clock armed marine patrol supervises the waters surrounding the island.

Each home on Indian Creek is built around the perimeter of the island to ensure that all residents have a waterfront view, while the middle is occupied with the luxurious Indian Creek Country Club and a 18-hole golf course.

Indian Creek is only accessible by a single bridge that is guarded by a gatehouse and for every three residents there is one police officer.

The seven-time Super Bowl winner with the New England Patriots has been renting a Tampa mansion owned by MLB Hall-of-Famer Derek Jeter. Jeter listed his property for sale in September and it’s still on the market for $29 million.

The couple, who married in 2009, are making changes to their real estate portfolio, as they just sold their sprawling Brookline, Boston estate for $33 million in January and sold their Tribeca, New York apartment for $36.8 million in December.

A source told People at the time that the couple still own another apartment in Manhattan so they are simply ‘downsizing because they’re in Tampa full time and they’re shopping around in Los Angeles as well.’

The source added that Brady maintains a ‘huge presence’ in New York because his son Jack, 13, lives there with his mother, Bridget Moynahan.

As for their house shopping in LA, a real estate insider told People that they’re looking ahead.

‘Brady will have projects based in L.A., and the people he’s partnering with on his first project are also in L.A.,

‘So the family is looking all over L.A. for a new home. They had sold the place they had there a few years ago. Gisele loves L.A.’ the insider said.
