Tom Zanetti has confirmed he will appear on the new 21st season of Made In Chelsea, alongside Sophie Hermann.

Fans had speculated as such, after Tom struck up a dalliance with the German beauty on the latest series of Celebs Go Dating.

But in a chat on FUBAR Radio, the DJ, 31, confirmed the rumours, adding that it was ‘nerve-wracking’ joining the cast.

He also explained that he has not become part of the series long-term, and that he was brought in for just a few scenes with Sophie, 34.

‘To be fair, it’s quite nerve-wracking but everybody on there is so welcoming. And I just really seem to get on with everybody,’ he told the radio show. ‘I’m a bit mischievous, so I just go in and have a laugh with everyone anyway.

‘With Made In Chelsea, you’re in beautiful locations but then, they’ll set up an amazing setting and a backdrop and then you’re given a topic to discuss, and then you kind of freestyle it.

‘So, yeah, it is actually reality. The stuff you talk about is off the top of your head and it’s not rehearsed. It’s just different. I really enjoyed it. It’s good.

‘I really take my hat off to them, to yourself and to people who do it all the time because it’s very long days. It’s very draining and you’re behind the camera a lot and it’s not easy, man. It’s not easy at all.’

He added: ‘These people who are on it, they’re on it for weeks on end and it’s very long days. It’s made to look very easy because it looks so beautiful on the screen, but it’s actually like so draining and so tiring. So yeah, it’s not easy at all.’

Of how involved he is in in the current run of episodes – which were shot from January to March in cast bubbles in the countryside due to the Covid pandemic – Tom went on: ‘I was going to come in for the full series but I just couldn’t commit at the minute. And because it’s Sophie’s [show], I didn’t really want to intrude.

‘I didn’t want to commit to being a cast member or anything like that. I didn’t want to overstay my welcome, I didn’t want to come on Sophie’s thing when I didn’t know her that much from outside the other house.

‘So then they invited me to come and DJ at a party so I thought, “Alright, wicked! I’ll come and DJ and we’ll have a bit of fun and then yeah”.’

This interview took place on Access All Areas on FUBAR Radio, hosted by TOWIE’s Bobby Norris and journalist Stephen Leng.
