While on the retreat organised by Yazmin Oukhellou and James Lock, Bobby told Matt it had ‘got him thinking’, after his former flame said he should always voice an issue that is playing on his mind.

Taking Matt to one side, he said: ‘After last night when you said if there’s anything you want to say, just say it. It got me thinking. We’re coming up to a year, it’s been the maddest of years.

‘We got used to the fake bubble we were in. Lockdown was make or break for most people. Pre lockdown our quality time was so much better, we appreciated each other more.

‘In theory we spend more time but it’s not quality, I don’t want us to get to a stage where we lose what we’ve got.’

Appearing to agree with Bobby’s view, Matt said: ‘When we did see each other it was special and magical and we got really excited, we’ve become a bit complacent, I guess that’s what the retreats about.’

Bobby concluded: ‘What we’re best doing is you go back to Reading and we go back to how it was before.
