He’s the outspoken radio star who hosts Triple M Sydney’s Moonman in the Morning breakfast show with Jess Eva and Chris Page.

And Lawrence Mooney pulls no punches when it comes to the guests he allows on his radio program.

On Tuesday, the 56-year-old told Daily Mail Australia why he will never have reality TV stars on his show.

‘Reality TV contestants are an absolute waste of time and they are not going to dish the dirt,’ the comedian said.

Lawrence continued: ‘Speaking to reality TV people is genuinely a waste of time. The genre is a waste of time and there is not many good reality shows going around.’

Despite not allowing them on his show, Lawrence applauded reality stars who land a gig on radio following their stint on TV.

‘I think good on them,’ he said.

‘Obviously there is a motivation there to get into the game and they want to do it and they prove their worth on the reality show.’

Lawrence’s co-star Jess Eva rose to fame on The Block in 2018, before landing a job in radio.

He said it’s the important the TV star has ‘got a personality and the ability to do it’.

‘Jess has got the props, she’s got the personality and the ability to do it so why not,’ he said.

Lawrence added: ‘The idea of just putting a reality star in because they have gained notoriety. They won’t last.’
