This is the terrifying moment a tipper truck driving on the wrong side of the road narrowly avoided a head-on collision with a horrified camper van driver.

Dashcam footage of the incident was filmed on the A4260 driving towards Banbury in Oxfordshire on September 23.

The clip was shared online by a friend of the camper van driver after the incident almost caused a terrible crash.

It shows the camper van following a bend in the road and suddenly coming head-on with a tipper truck driving in their lane.

The truck, a PJ Murphy tipper truck, is too late to indicate back into it’s own lane which is busy with cars.

With seconds to spare, it swerves into a ditch, narrowly avoiding hitting the camper van in a head-on crash.

The 15-second-clip was shared to a British Tipper Trucks Facebook page and shocked viewers expressed their horror in the comments.

Paul Eady wrote: ‘There’s no excuse driving like that. Needs banning permanently.’ 

Others pointed out the rules of the road, with Shaun Lazenby writing: ‘Police would be interested in the video, overtaking on a solid white line.’

Sam Hedges who posted the video wrote: ‘Got sent this from a friends dash cam A4260 Hopcrofts holt towards Banbury, just going down the hill after the dual carriageway.  

‘The police were unable to do anything with the footage, due to a glitch in their system it went over the 14 days they have to action the event.’
