Wendy Williams parts ways with love interest Mike Esterman after brief fling

Wendy Williams and contractor Mike Esterman have parted ways after a brief fling.

Esterman, 53, told Page Six Monday that the talk show host, 56, ‘deserves to be with someone who may have more time’ to spend with her.

Esterman, a Maryland contractor, said he and the TV personality went on dates three times and were ‘never an item.’

‘I had placed all work-related tasks aside to get to know her on a personal level, no angles or hidden agendas,’ he told the outlet. ‘I can only wish her the best as we both continue the search at our own paces and remain friends in the process. 

‘I have enjoyed our times together and felt great to be able to make her laugh.’

Esterman’s chat with the outlet came in the wake of a report from The Sun indicating that the pair had decided to cease their romance.

The pair were initially linked in a Date Wendy segment on her show earlier this year, and Williams last month paid a visit to Esterman in his home state of Maryland.

Williams said Esterman is ‘age-appropriate, and he’s got jokes’ on her February 26 edition.

Esterman, who has ties to show business through his friend Mario Lopez, told Page Six that his pursuit of the TV host was not for ‘exposure.’

Esterman told The Sun of their parting, ‘Nobody called it a day, there’s just no time to meet up. We talk when we can. I can’t hold her back from meeting someone who can give her more.’ 

The veteran broadcaster was previously married to ex-husband Kevin Hunter for more than 20 years ahead of her divorce filing in April of 2019. The pair are son to Kevin Jr., 20.
