Will Young has revealed he’s set to embark on a new lifestyle journey as he prepares to kick off a new diet.

The singer, 41, took to Instagram on Monday evening to upload a shirtless throwback image of himself as a source of motivation to achieve his goals.

Leave Right Now hitmaker Will admitted his misses his former physique but poked fun at his past fashion choices as he wrote: ‘I mean I want this body back, maybe not the hat’.

Moments later, the actor shared a picture of hearty soup, penning: ‘And the diet begins….. tomorrow!’ (sic) 

Last month, the Pop Idol winner revealed he’d been ‘struck’ by COVID-19 in a post shared to his Stories.

Will claimed he ‘almost got away with it,’ after a year which has seen many stars battle the deadly virus.

It comes following a difficult year for Will after his brother Rupert tragically took his own life by jumping from Westminster Bridge in August, and later told the inquest caring for his ‘suicidal’ twin eventually became ‘too much.’

Posting a selfie of his pensive expression, the media personality wrote: ‘COVID strikes! Almost got away with it…’

Recent weeks have seen the number of new cases soar across the UK following the discovery of a new variant of coronavirus, which is thought to be far more infectious.

Speaking to Poplar Coroners Court during his brother’s inquest, the musician described himself as his brother’s carer before it ‘became too much’ and he left the room when the Coroner read heartbreaking evidence of the day his brother died.  

Speaking at the inquest, the artist said: ‘I was a carer for him, but it became too much. He could not look after himself and I did not believe he could look after his own life.

‘I feel it is difficult for me. I am someone who is pretty in control over my emotional well-being. I am a functional adult. I have done a lot of work on myself.’
