Wonder Woman sequel WW 1984 photos show Gal Gadot in armor

Wonder Woman’s glistening armor is showcased in new images for the DC sequel starring Gal Gadot that’s been delayed THREE times

It’s the world’s most anticipated superhero movie ever, especially since its release date keeps getting pushed back further and further.

But fans of Wonder Woman got another tidbit of content from the upcoming sequel Wonder Woman 1984 on Monday, as the film’s star Gal Gadot posted two cover images from the next issue of Total Film showing her unstoppable heroine in a unique new outfit.

In the colorful snaps, Wonder Woman (nee Diana of Themyscira) is seen in what is known as her Golden Eagle Armor, and in one shot her metallic wings are spread.

Get ready, again: Fans got another tidbit of content from the upcoming sequel Wonder Woman 1984 on Monday, as star Gal Gadot posted two cover images from the next issue of Total Film

She clutches her glowing Golden Lasso, and is set against an era-appropraite spread of 80s neon stripes.

The other shot offers a new, over-the-shoulder angle showing more of Wonder Woman’s posterior, with Gal serving up dramatic side-eye in the process.

The armor on her shoulder glistens and sparkles in the light.

Alongside her share of the images, Gadot, 35, wrote, ‘I know I keep saying it, but I’m SO excited to share #WW84 with the world! For a sneak peek check out the latest issue of @totalfilm’

Her phrasing ‘I know I keep saying it’ was a reference to the fact that she’s been promoting the sequel for well over a year, as the film was originally slated to be released in November or December of 2019.

Then, citing post-production concerns, WW1984 was pushed to June 5, which of course ran into trouble due to the coronavirus pandemic shuttering theaters worldwide.

The new release date of August 14th was then changed yet again earlier this month to October 2nd, in hopes that vestigial fears of gathering in cineplexes are over by then (and of course, that there is no emergence of a second wave of the pandemic).

Still to come: The sequel to 2017's Wonder Woman has been pushed back from last fall, to June, to August, and now to October of this year

Gadot first portrayed the mythic DC superhero in 2017’s Wonder Woman, which heralded a new era for superhero films from that comic house as it was a relative critical and box office success, compared with previous lackluster entries like Justice League and Batman Vs. Superman.

Aquaman, starring Jason Momoa, soon followed in 2018 to general praise and a billion dollar plus stake in revenue.

Renewed interest in DC titles has also led to an upcoming recut of 2017’s Justice League – a film beleaguered by production issues behind the scenes – by the film’s original director Zack Snyder, due out on HBO Max next year.
