A Network 10 boss explains how the evictions will work on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

‘We have devised a very funny, very fair system’: A Network 10 boss explains how the evictions on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! will work after the show was pre-recorded

The evictions on this year’s season of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! are set to look different from previous years.

This year’s show was pre-recorded, meaning viewers won’t get to vote on who leaves the hit Network 10 reality show like in other seasons.

In an interview with news.com.au on Tuesday, the network’s head of entertainment and factual programs, Stephen Tate, teased this year’s elimination process.

‘We have devised a very funny, very fair system for deciding who will do the trials and the challenges,’ he began.

He added: ‘It may or may not involve a mythical wombat called “Warren the Wombat of Winternet Wisdom”.’

According to news.com.au, this year’s elimination episodes will see the show’s celebrities participate in a series of challenges.

The first challenge will be an all-in challenge, which will then determine the bottom three contestants.

The bottom three will then compete in another challenge, with whoever places last being eliminated from the show.

But Tate said the overall winner of the show will still be determined by the viewers.

‘The most important thing to realise is that Australia will decide the winner. The ending will be live,’ he added.

The new season was pre-recorded for the first time this year, and production was also relocated from South Africa to northern NSW due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This year’s contestants include The Bachelor’s Abbie Chatfield, former Australian Idol star Paulini Curuenavuli, and The Voice’s Jack Vidgen.
