Action Bronson reveals how he lost 127 pounds during quarantine: ‘You keep your eye on the prize’

He’s a chef-turned-rapper who has recently undergone a stunning body transformation.

Action Bronson appeared in Men’s Health Magazine on Tuesday to reveal how he dropped over 125 pounds this year, going from almost 400 pounds down to the mid 200s.

The White Bronco hitmaker, who turned 37 last week, said his ‘journey started way long ago.’

‘I was born heavy. I was a heavy child. This transformation was long overdue,’ Bronson, born Ariyan Arslani, continued.

But the notorious food lover set out to lose weight from March of this year, and succeeded thanks to an aggressive fitness regimen and a complete overhaul of his diet.

And it could not have come at a better time, considering Bronson’s health.

‘There was a lot of stuff like prediabetes, eczema, asthma, all kinds of f**king dumb stuff that I had given myself,’ he reflected.

Additionally, Action struggled with portion control.

‘If I made something that was a big, round dish, I would eat the big, round dish. I wouldn’t just have one piece.’

The big change, he said, was a life event last year – the birth of his son last November.

‘You always want to be around for your family,’ Action reflected.

‘It wasn’t going to happen unless I made that decision myself, and, you know, it takes some soul-searching and some stuff to really bother you. Like something that really gets under your skin to make that change. That happened to me.’

Now, he wakes up at 4am every day to get in his workout and jump start his protein intake.

‘I’ve already got my work in while everyone else is snoozing,’ he shared, ‘putting in big gains, big protein, you know?’

Bronson is a fan of HIIT workouts, which stands for High Intensity Interval Training – a system of maximum effort mixed with rest periods that’s designed to get the body burning fat even after the workout is complete.

Some of his favorite activities include ‘50-pound medicine-ball throws, you know, down a 50-yard track, throwing it as far as you can, all the way down the track and back.’

He also likes attempting a hundred burpees ‘or some sort of ridiculous thing.’

And even though Action is going strong and seeing results, he’s cautious not to lose his head about it all.

‘I’ve only managed to do it for six months, bro,’ he stated. ‘I’m known to fall off the wagon.’

But on the other hand, he knows that the key to success is that ‘you keep your eye on the prize and don’t let yourself fall down.’
