In the clip, the toddler cannot control his laughter as he plays with the brown dog, who is much bigger than the little boy.

However, despite his size, the boy is not one bit afraid as the gentle dog tries to smother him with affection.

The boy wriggles around in fits of giggles as the dog attempts to lick his face and then eventually plays dead – lying on its back.

Dogs often lick people to show affection, to get our attention, or sometimes to taste salt on our skin.

According to Animal Friends Insurance, when dogs lick, pleasurable endorphins are released into their blood which makes them feel calm and comforted, as they were licked by their mother as a puppy.

Therefore, it’s their natural instinct to lick things to show their love.

It’s also possible that dogs lick humans because we have tiny salt or food particles on our skin that taste good to them.
