Adorable moment two ‘quarantine babies’ hug each other for the first time – and don’t want to let go

- Parents Sydney and Aaron Lopez, and Emily and Jesse Jacobs captured the footage of their babies meeting for the first time and it has since gone viral
This is the moment two babies born during lockdown met for the first time and greeted each other in the most heartwarming way.
Had the world not gone into lockdown during the coronavirus pandemic, 13-month-old Maxwelle and baby Keanu, six months, would have met much earlier.
But little Maxwelle had to isolate at home in Argyle, Texas as she has a family member who is immunocompromised.
However, on May 13, the pair were finally introduced to each other by their parents Sydney and Aaron Lopez, and Emily and Jesse Jacobs at their elder siblings’ elementary school.
The families were hoping to capture a sweet photograph of the babies together, but they all got much more than they bargained for when the two cuddled and refused to let each other go.
Sydney, Maxwelle’s mother, said the moment made her think of the U2 song Sweetest Thing which includes the line: ‘Blue-eyed boy meets a brown-eyed girl.’
And when she shared the clip online of her daughter and Keanu with the song in the background, it went viral.
Speaking of the long awaited moment, Sydney said: ‘Honestly, it was the sweetest moment.

‘We started filming several minutes into their embrace because we’re all so captivated by them both.
‘Two families, coming together to watch the pure, innocent, agape love that these babies shared.
‘Maxwelle just kept hugged Keanu in closer and closer – she is so full of joy and always smiling that this was not a surprise at all.’

Keanu’s dad, Jesse, added: ‘I smile every time I watch the video – how can you not?
‘I am super happy other can get joy from our Keanu.
‘He’s a special dude and he truly does spread so much joy to others – I am happy that happened.’
