‘It’s hard to be away’: Buddy Franklin opens up about his heartbreaking separation from his family just months after welcoming newborn son Rocky
Buddy and Jesinta Franklin welcomed their second child, son Rocky, in March.
But the Sydney Swans player, 34, has been forced apart from his family – which also includes 16-month-old daughter Tullulah – during the AFL season.
‘I’m separated from Jes and the kids at the moment and it’s really hard to be away,’ he told Now To Love.

‘So there are lots of FaceTime calls between us, but we feel incredibly lucky to have two happy and healthy kids,’ he added.
Buddy added that Rocky has been the perfect addition to their family of four.
‘Rocky has been an amazing little sport… It’s definitely very busy but I wouldn’t change a thing,’ he said.
The footy star also revealed he and Jesinta, 29, choose to take each day as it comes as they parent two children under the age of two.
Buddy’s interview comes after Jesinta shared some candid moments from her ‘mum life’ that any parent can relate to.
The model shared a photo to Instagram earlier this month which showed her cradling newborn Rocky while her one-year-old daughter, Tullulah, ran riot.

Jesinta and Buddy first started dating in 2013, and tied the knot in a secret ceremony in November 2016.
They welcomed Tullulah in February 2020, and Rocky followed in March this year.
