AFL star Gary Rohan’s split with his wife Amie in July 2020 shocked the football community.
This week, Amie broke her silence about the impact the end of their relationship had on her mental health and adapting to being a single mother.
The former WAG bravely told to the Women of Influence podcast on Tuesday: ‘I’m finding my new norm… I had no idea how I was going to do it.’

‘I basically, probably, had the lowest days of my life. I probably fell into a deep depression, but I lent on those close to me,’ she said.
‘I let out everything I was feeling, but I think when you have so much emotional attachment and stories you just don’t ever want to go through it.’
She also noted that she regularly sees her psychologist and leans on her circle of friends for support.

In addition to being a doting mother to her daughters – Bella, two, and 11-month-old Sadie – Amie has now turned her energy to a new and exciting secret project.
‘I’ve got something happening behind the scenes, which is a little bit exciting. It’s in regards to kids and dance,’ which the blonde beauty called her passions in life.
Amie’s podcast appearance comes after footy fans were stunned last year when it was reported that she and Gary had split just months after she’d given birth – and two years after losing one of their twins.

The former high school sweethearts apparently separated in late July, when Gary joined his teammates at the AFL’s Gold Coast quarantine hub.
Meanwhile, Amie stayed at home on Victoria’s Bellarine Peninsula with their children.
Prior to the spilt, they welcomed their second daughter, Sadie Rose, in March last year.
He has reportedly moved on with a club staffer, which has supposedly caused angst in the locker room.

Interestingly, the former couple made headlines last month when fans noticed Gary had started ‘liking’ Amie’s Instagram posts again.
The Rohans had married in October 2016 on Hamilton Island, several weeks after Gary played in the AFL Grand Final for his former club Sydney Swans.
Gary and Amie welcomed twin girls Bella and Willow in April 2018, but the joyous occasion was marred with sadness when Willow died five hours after she was born.
Willow was diagnosed with anencephaly, a congenital disorder in which a major part of the baby’s brain fails to develop.
