Alana gets an intervention of her own amid her mother’s meltdown on Mama June: From Hot To Not

Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson got a rough wake up call after acting out on Friday’s episode of Mama June: From Hot To Not.

The 14-year-old reality star went through the same intervention her mother June Shannon went through after she posted a video of herself pretending to snort cocaine.

The confrontation also exposed the tensions between Alana and her older sister Lauryn ‘Pumpkin’ Efird, 20, who struggled to raise an additional child.

Consequences: Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson, 14, broke down when she had an intervention of her own after making a fake video of herself snorting cocaine on Mama June: From Hot To Not

The episode opened with Alana’s fake cocaine video going viral and getting picked up by multiple news outlets.

Pumpkin stormed into the home’s living room to confront her younger sister about the clip in a profanity-laden tirade.

‘It was a joke. Why can’t people take a joke?’ Alana asked exasperatedly while Josh watched with an exhausted look on his face.

Her manager, Gina Rodriguez, was soon on the phone and wanted to have a video chat with her client to clear up the problem.

‘We’ve been trying to put out fires all morning!’ she complained while Alana watched blankly.

Although Pumpkin was clearly furious, she wasn’t sure just how to proceed with punishing her sister.

‘I honestly have no idea how to punish a 13-year-old. I mean, I’m 19 years old myself,’ she admitted in a confessional video.

Meanwhile, Alana’s father Mike ‘Sugar Bear’ Thompson’ learned of his daughter’s video in a clunky scene in which his wife Jennifer played it for him from their bed.

‘This is the last straw, Mike. I am done letting Alana live with Pumpkin,’ she said mechanically.

Back at Pumpkin’s home, she met up with her aunt Jo ‘Doe Doe’ Shannon and her daughter Amber.

Doe Doe blamed Alana’s behavior on her heartbreak after June initially agreed to go to rehab, before skipping out on the program.

Pumpkin seemed to agree but wanted to consult a professional, so they called up Dr. Ish Major, who previously staged June’s own ill-fated intervention.

While they set up an intervention/therapy session, Pumpkin’s husband Josh drove Alana out into the country to a friend’s farm to show her the kinds of back-breaking manual labor she might be forced to do if she lost her reality series and her endorsements.

They tried to give her the most unappetizing task possible, so she was handed a rake and told to scoop up all of the cow excrement on the farm.

‘I was on Dancing With The Stars. I do not shovel cow s***,’ Alana complained later.

‘You’ll remember this the next time you’re on your phone doing dumb s***,’ Josh teased her while she worked.

Back at Pumpkin’s home, she and Doe Doe and Amber chatted with Dr. Ish about what could be motivating Alana’s recent acting out.

Dr. Ish theorized that the faux-cocaine video was a cry for attention from the teenager to her mother.

‘She replicated her mom’s drug use, which took her out of her life,’ he explained.

Pumpkin shed a few tears as she opened up to the group about the stress she’s been under raising her sister, whom she’d never planned on taking care of.

Doe Doe then revealed that June was reenacting part of her own upbringing. She confessed that she mostly raised her sister on her own at age 16 because their mother ‘went from man to man to man.’

Afterward, Alana returned from her trip to the farm for the intervention, though she didn’t act as defensively as her mother did.

Dr. Ish played it cool and urged her to think about what motivated her to record her infamous viral video.

‘You can’t go through life not understanding why you’re doing a thing,’ he explained.

Alana didn’t bite when he asked if she hoped her mother would see the video, but she burst into tears when she opened up about how much stress she’s felt lately in response to her mother’s legal troubles.

Doe Doe and Amber repeated the sentiment and told Alana that they would have taken her in even if Pumpkin hadn’t been able to, at which point the whole group converged on Alana to wrap her in hugs.

The episode ended with a preview of next week’s show. Josh cursed and brought his phone out to the kitchen to show Alana and Pumpkin that June was selling everything from their old house, including her children’s left-over belongings.

Alana seemed particularly upset, because Pumpkin hadn’t allowed her to go back to the house because she didn’t consider it a safe environment.

June’s online post also claimed that the proceeds from the items would be going to Alana and Pumpkin, but neither had even heard of the sale.
