Alison Hammond honoured her late mother Maria by baking her banana bread in a cooking segment on This Morning on Monday. 

The TV star, 45, delighted fans as she cooked the delicious treat from her home in Birmingham, yet was forced to cut things short when her decorations fell loose and Eamonn Holmes rushed things along. 

After fans noticed that she cooked the family recipe alongside a picture of her mum and a lit candle, she responded to Twitter users with a touching message reading: ‘She was with me. Miss her every second of everyday’.

In February, Alison took to social media on to reveal her mother, has sadly passed away. The Celebs Go Dating and This Morning star wrote on Twitter that her mother had been battling liver and lung cancer.

Sharing pictures of her beloved mother, she wrote: ‘I am dedicating this Valentines to my beautiful Mother who sadly passed away from liver and lung cancer.

‘My family and I laid mummy to rest yesterday in a beautiful ceremony which I know she would have loved. RIP my best friend and Angel please come to my dreams.’

After her cookery honour to her mum on Monday, fans wrote: ‘Just spotted the picture with Alison and her late Mum and lit candle. That’s so lovely. A nice tribute…
