Ariana Grande announces new Netflix film from her Sweetener concert tour titled ‘Excuse me, I love you’
She spent the better part of 2019 on tour celebrating the success of her fourth studio album, Sweetener.
And Ariana Grande confirmed she’s heading to Netflix with the release of a concert movie from her successful series of shows last year.
The 27-year-old songstress announced that ‘Excuse me, I love you’ will begin streaming on the popular network on Dec. 21, after teasing black-and-white grabs to her 200million followers on Instagram.

‘Dec 21st, a year after closing, the sweetener world tour is coming home to u,’ she wrote in a lengthy caption. ‘@netflix @netflixfilm releasing this as a love letter to u all, in celebration of all that we’ve shared over the past few years.
‘I know this project only captures some of one tour (out of all the other hundreds of shows and moments we have shared over the past six or seven years… jesus lol) but i just wanted to thank u all for showing me more in this lifetime already than i ever dreamed of.’
Her Sweetener world tour was one of the hottest tickets last year, comprising 97 shows in attended by 1.3 million fans.

That post elicited a comment from Netflix’s corporate Instagram account, which said: ‘excuse me, I love you’
‘Making music and doing all of this has been all i’ve known or fully given myself to consistently for a very long time now,’ she added. ‘Although my heart is looking forward to a change of pace, i wanted to express again just how eternally thankful i am.’
Her new venture marks Grande’s first film project in two years, after she released her dangerous woman diaries on YouTube.
The caption-less posts shared on Tuesday saw the sultry performer splayed in a backbend on stage in one image, while in another her profile was seen slightly from behind.

The social media activity sent Ariana‘s enthusiastic fanbase into overdrive, with many wondering whether this was a direct hint that the Sweetener tour was coming to Netflix as a concert documentary film or series.
Many of Ariana‘s contemporaries in the music world have utilized Netflix to publicize tours or albums, including Taylor Swift with her Miss Americana documentary from earlier this year.
And more recently, Shawn Mendes released his film Shawn Mendes: In Wonder on the streaming platform, in support of his new album.

Sweetener was Ariana’s world tour in support of two albums, both her fourth and fifth studio albums, Sweetener and Thank U, Next.
It grossed over $146.4 million, kicking off in March of 2019 in Albany, New York, and concluding last December in Inglewood, California.
Since then, the Side To Side songstress has released her sixth record Positions, but due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic there are no immediate plans for Grande to go on tour.
