Ashley Cain rushed his leukemia-stricken daughter Azaylia to hospital on Sunday evening after she began bleeding profusely.

The Ex On The Beach star, 30, took to Instagram to reveal he was forced to take Azaylia, eight months, for an emergency platelet transfusion as her illness has ‘eaten away parts that clot the blood’ and would cause internal bleeding.

He said: ‘That’s no way for her to go. She’s been so happy today so we knew we needed a platelet transfusion and that will preserve us for another day or two days and three days and every day is a blessing’.

Ashley, who has Azalyia with girlfriend Safiyya Voraje, 34, has been chronicling Azalyia’s health woes on social media since she was diagnosed at just two months and has garnered worldwide support, including from Dwayne Johnson.

Ashley filmed the video in the back of a car, as he detailed what had happened over night and revealed he forced the doctors to do the transfusion.

He said: ‘On our way back from hospital now, we rushed Azaylia in tonight. On oxygen because she’d been bleeding from the nose because she has tumours on her brain as well as her body…

‘Because of her blood cancer it eats away at the parts that clot the blood so the lack of platelets means she can bleed from the inside and that’s why her nose is bleeding and that’s no way for her to go…

‘She’s been so happy today so we knew we needed a platelet transfusion and that will preserve us for another day or two days and three days and every day is a blessing. Let’s go champ.’

Ashley then reached out to parents in similar situations, urging them to educate themselves on what their children are going through.

He went on: ‘For all parents in this situation just make sure you know your stuff when they’ve been discharged the doctor will not perform any more procedures so we knew that she needed the platelet transfusion we weren’t asking for bloods to be taken because they wont do bloods…

‘So we knew that she needed the platelet transfusion and rang up and demanded as we knew she needed the transfusion to help clot her blood and stop her bleeding out…

‘By taking charge of your child’s care and not leaving it to anyone else you know certain things that preserve your child’s life and give them another day or two days because every moment is precious and i want every parent going through this to know that’.

Last week, doctors revealed there was no further treatment available amid her leukaemia battle following the discovery of multiple tumours in her body.

The media personality and his partner Safiyya recently raised more than £1.5 million to fund a trip to Singapore for potentially life-saving transplant, but she was being treated in the UK during the interim.

He later revealed that Azaylia can no longer fly to Singapore for treatment after discovering the tumours, and vowed to make her final days ‘as fun as they can’.

Ashley penned a detailed account of Azaylia’s health battle on his GoFundMe page and said that any extra funds the couple receive will be donated to other families in a similar situation to them.

According to the NHS, it is a ‘highly complex and potentially risky treatment’ but has been shown in trials to cure some patients when other treatments have failed.

Ashley said he has spent the first eight months of fatherhood under Covid-19 restrictions in hospital as his daughter fought the cancer.

Doctors told the TV star and his partner Safiyya that chemotherapy would not be enough to cure Azaylia.

What are the symptoms of leukaemia in children?

Fatigue and pale skin – this is because leukaemia can cause anaemia which makes a child feel weak, tired and light-headed.

Infections and fever – children with leukaemia lack normal white blood cells which would normally help fight infection.

Rash – children may have small, dark spots that look like common rashes if the leukemia cells spread to the skin

Easy bruising or bleeding – this includes frequent nosebleeds, bleeding gums and bleeding a lot from small cuts.

Bone or joint pain – this is caused by a build up of leukaemia cells near the surface of the bone or inside the joint.

Swelling of the abdomen – leukaemia cells may collect in the liver and spleen causing them to enlarge.

Loss of appetite and weight loss – if the spleen and liver swell, they can press against the stomach causing loss of appetite.

Swollen lymph nodes – some leukaemias spread to the lymph nodes causing them to swell.
