Ashley Cain’s daughter Azaylia returns to hospital after being unable to feed through her tube

Ashley Cain has revealed his daughter Azaylia has returned to hospital again after being unable to feed through her tube amid her leukaemia battle.

The former footballer, 30, whose eight-month-old returned home last week, took to Instagram on Wednesday to upload a clip of himself explaining that she needs a platelet transfusion, admitting: ‘There is no easy day on this journey’.

Later into the day, his girlfriend Safiyya Vorajee, 34, said the couple are feeling ‘happy now’ after the tot received the procedure.

‘There is no easy day on this journey’: Ashley Cain has revealed daughter Azaylia has returned to hospital again after being unable to feed through her tube amid her leukaemia battle

Ex On The Beach star Ashley said: ‘So we’ve had to come back to hospital. What we’re testing is Azaylia’s tube, her NG tube. It’s not coming back with the correct PH.

‘That means that we can’t feed her down the tube, we can’t put medication down the tube. So that means that we’ve got a problem.

‘Also, they can’t just fit another tube because of her platelet level being so low and her tumours, they don’t want her to catch anything on the way down and cause her to bleed out.

‘So we’re about to come into hospital for an X-Ray now to check if the tube’s in the right place and if it’s not a clear passage for the new tube because it’s urgent that she gets her food and medication. There is no easy day on this journey, trust me.’

Safiyya added in a separate clip: ‘Feeling happy now, Azaylia has had a platelet transfusion so all good.’ (sic)

The new videos come hours after Azaylia returned to hospital for another platelet transfusion, which Ashley explained were to help stop his little girl from ‘bleeding out’ by aiding blood clotting in her body.

While on the way to hospital, Ashley shared a clip of Azaylia in her car seat and explained while she is no longer under hospital care they will still offer transfusions.

He wrote: ‘On the way to hospital to get Azaylia’s platlet transfusion. The hospital aren’t treating Azaylia anymore, but we’re able to go in to get a platelet transfusion to help her blood clot and prevent internal bleeding.’

Safiyya also shared a similar update on her Instagram Stories before leaving for the hospital visit.

Hours earlier, Ashley revealed he is ‘constantly’ applying cold compresses to his daughter Azaylia’s eyes to help reduce her pain.

He took to Instagram on Monday to share a video of the tot and detailed his desperation to ensure she can open her eyes and see the world.

Ashley later told his followers he was taking Azaylia back to hospital for another platelet transfusion, which helps her blood to clot and prevents internal bleeding.

He penned: ‘Cold compressing constantly to reduce the discomfort and swelling around her eyes. Every second of the hours on hours of doing this is worth it when she opens her eyes even for a few minutes.’

Alongside the images, Ashley wrote: ‘One special moment at a time. When Azaylia finally got to see her cousin Anaya without a pane of glass between them, it melted my heart.

‘The two little princesses were born only 6 days apart and when they touched hands for the first time, it sent immense amounts of emotion through my body. It made me so happy with sorrowful tears.

‘We take each day at a time on this journey. So it’s important to enjoy today, because yesterday is gone and tomorrow isn’t promised. Another day baby… Another day! LETS GO CHAMP! I ❤️ YOU.’

Ashley and Safiyya, have been documenting Azaylia’s leukemia battle since she was diagnosed at just two months and have garnered worldwide support amid news of her terminal illness.

Last week, Ashley explained that Azaylia’s eyes have been fraught with trauma as she was rushed to hospital when she began crying blood and now cold compresses are what is helping soothe the swelling and discomfort.

He penned: ‘We’ve had another very tough day today. To be honest every single day is a very tough day. We don’t take Azaylia out of our sight for a single second at the moment, caring for her every need.

‘Today was the first time for days that she has been able to open her eyes. The swelling and the blood in her tears is causing her pain and forcing them to stick and shut.

‘But with relentless care and improvisation we’ve managed to help her see the world again. Even though she doesn’t have much energy, she loved to see her surroundings today and had the loveliest little playtime.

‘We even got a smile which was worth more than anything money can buy. As a parent it’s the hardest thing in the world to see your child like this, at home, with the painful inevitable fate pending.

‘For some insane reason though I still have some crazy belief she will still be with us next week, the week after that and the week after that. But we aren’t counting the days right now, we’re just doing our best to make the days count.’

Ashley’s latest update comes after he revealed that scam artists have set up Facebook groups in his daughter’s name.

He took to Instagram on Monday and told how he felt ‘really sad’ to see fake pages being set up claiming to be in aid of his daughter.

Ashley warned people not to send gifts to these groups as they are not authentic and Azaylia will not receive anything sent to them.

‘Any communication from these pages/groups has no authority from us and any gifts send to these addresses are not being delivered or received by us.’

Ashley reiterated that only he and Safiyya will give fans updates on Azaylia’s health.

He said: ‘The only official updates come from mine and my partner’s Instagram pages. Thank you for all of the continued love and support!’

It comes after Ashley admitted that he is ‘scared’ for Azaylia amid her leukaemia battle.

Updating fans on Saturday from a special pod he and Safiyya had set up so they could go stargazing with their eight-month-old child, he spoke candidly about how he has been feeling and said he is trying to be the ‘best me’ for his daughter.

Earlier in the day, he shared the touching moment a plane flew over his and partner Safiyya’s house to draw a heart in the sky in honour of their daughter Azaylia.

While showing off the garden pod, Ashley explained to fans: ‘I’m just sitting outside in the pod that we got for Azaylia so we can sit outside at night time and look up at the stars with her.

‘She’s asleep at the minute and right now it’s too hot for her in here as she’s spiking in temperature and needs to cool down.

‘Truthfully though, I can’t really put into words how I’m feeling – I’m scared, I’m worried, I’m nervous, I’m anxious, all of the time.

‘But I’m getting my strength from being the best me I can be for my daughter right now and currently she’s still here, she’s still breathing, and she’s still in the game.’

Ever the doting dad, Ashley ended the video by sharing his support for Azaylia by saying: ‘Let’s go champ, thank you guys.’
