Aston Martin once owned by the Queen for sale for around £75k

A barely-used 190mph Aston Martin once owned by the Queen has gone up for sale for £75,000.

The pristine Vanquish supercar was first registered as new to the Royal Privy Purse of Windsor Road in Ascot, Berkshire, in 2003.

It remained in the Royal household until 2016 when the number plates were changed and it was sold to a private individual.

It is not known which members of the Royal Family drove the vehicle, but Prince Charles is known to be a lover of Aston Martins.

The Queen is also known to take trips to Ascot, where the car was based, to see her horses run at the racecourse.

Despite being in Royal service for 13 years, the Aston has been used sparingly throughout its life and has less than 17,000 miles on the clock.

The stylish two-door motor currently belongs to a British enthusiast but has been consigned for sale with Silverstone Auctions of Ashorne, Warwickshire.

They say it has ‘an interesting story to tell’ and are expecting bids of around £75,000.

The car has immaculate grey bodywork, subtle chrome trim and a spotless black interior.

The V12 engine. The vehicle, which was supplied through Aston Martin Mayfair, has a top speed of 190mph and can do 0-60 in just 4.7 seconds

Under the bonnet is a six litre V12 engine that generates a whopping 460bhp.

The motor has a top speed of 190mph and can do 0-60 in just 4.7 seconds.

A Silverstone Auctions spokesman said: ‘This is an exciting car with an interesting story to tell.

‘Appropriately for a ‘James Bond’ type of Aston, it was supplied through Aston Martin Mayfair and registered to Royal Privy Purse in 2003.

‘Who used the car in its early days is unclear, so one can only speculate about which particular member of the Royal Family used it.

‘It remained with them until 2016 and has only been registered to two private keepers since.

‘Both have maintained the car well and kept the mileage correspondingly low.

‘Viewing it is highly recommended.’

The sale takes place tomorrow.
