Australian Survivor’s Zach Kozyrski is officially engaged to longtime girlfriend Katie Miller.

The 40-year-old rallied together some of his fellow Survivor stars to plan a Bachelor-inspired proposal on Friday in a helicopter overlooking the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

The personal trainer had originally planned to pop the question on the Australian Survivor: All Stars finale, but the plan fell through after filming was altered due to the coronavirus outbreak.

To make up for it, Zach enlisted the help of his Survivor co-stars Moana Hope, David Genat and John Eastoe to help him pull off an elaborate proposal.

‘She said yes!’ Zach wrote on Instagram after the engagement.

‘Katie had no idea this was happening and we gave her the The Bachelor date she deserved, complete with mid-air proposal over the harbour bridge.

‘This was only made possible with the help of some amazing friends, David Genat, Moanna Hope, Johnny Eastoe. A massive shout out to Ron Simon from Bensimon [jewellery], hands down the best jeweller in the country. This ring is next level!!!’

Katie further elaborated on the special moment in an Instagram post of her own.

‘So this happened yesterday,’ she wrote alongside a photo of herself with her engagement ring.

‘Zach had planned to propose to me at the season finale of Survivor All Stars and was gutted when it was announced that they were not going to have an audience,’ she continued.

‘Zach expressed his disappointment to the other survivor players and they rallied together to create a perfect proposal for us. David organised a private helicopter for us, Johnny distracted me while Zach and Moana helped organise my custom made ring designed by the amazing Bensimon.

‘Zach proposed while we were flying over the Sydney Harbour Bridge and it was all very romantic. The proposal was all caught on camera and we will share it with you all in a couple of days when it comes through!’

The Australian Survivor: All Stars finale was filmed in Sydney this week without a live studio audience and without host Jonathan Lapaglia.

Jonathan, who is based in Los Angeles, was unable to fly back to Australia for filming due to the travel ban caused by the coronavirus outbreak.

Production on the next season of Australian Survivor has also been delayed due to the pandemic.

Zach first shot to fame on Australian Gladiators back in 2008, before returning to the spotlight for Australian Survivor’s first Champions vs Contenders season.

While he was a villain on the season, he later reinvented his image on All Stars to become a fan favourite.

In an emotional Instagram post in February, Zach thanked viewers for giving him a chance to redeem himself after his original villainous portrayal on the show.

‘I am really happy that you have all been open to giving me a second chance of winning you over,’ he wrote.

‘Last time I played, I wanted to play the villain and talked a lot of smack about a lot of people. Unfortunately the edit only showed me talking about the women and whilst they were just jokes and obviously not how I actually think, I can see how it got a lot of people offside.

‘It’s been a long road to redemption but I want to thank all of those who have always had my back and all of those that were open minded and forgiving enough to give me another chance. Love you all.’
