Mod — who’s full name is Derek Ryan Smith — rocked red slacks with a leather jacket featuring the name of his latest album spray painted across the back.
The couple have been linked together for the last two months as they worked on the song Flames for his new album, Internet Killed The Rockstar.
They became friends through their mutual pal, Machine Gun Kelly, before he got the nerve to ask her about singing a track on his forthcoming fourth studio album.
In the song, Mod — who’s full name is Derek Ryan Smith — pines for his ex as he joins Avril in signing the chorus: ‘I still burn for you like the sun burns in the sky.’
‘We linked up through talking and just talking about music – she’s such a music lover, she keeps her ear to what’s happening now and she caught wind of my music through my brother Machine Gun Kelly,’ he told recently told Metro.co.uk.
He added: ‘It’s hard to even say because it’s f**king Avril Lavigne but she was like ‘I really like your song, I really like your music’ and she was like ‘send me some other stuff that you’re working on.’
Mod was previously in a tumultuous relationship with Bella Thorne while Avril called it quits with her billionaire boyfriend Phillip Sarofim in November 2019.
She was previously married for four years to fellow Canadian and Sum 41 musician Deryck Whibley, and moved on to marry Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger for two years before finalizing a divorce in 2015.
