Ayda Field says this Christmas is the first time she’ll be miles away from her mum

She revealed her mother Gwen was diagnosed with cervical cancer in January.

And Ayda Field said this year is ‘the first time in her whole life’ she will be miles away from her mum, 70, on Christmas.

The former Loose Women panellist, 41, said that the year didn’t get off to a good start after her mother’s cancer diagnosis, but got worse because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Away: Ayda Field said this year is ‘the first time in her whole life’ she will be miles away from her mum Gwen, 70, on Christmas

Speaking on her podcast At Home With The Williamses with husband Robbie, 46, Ayda said: ‘Do you know what? This year has been a f***ing shocker. I know I curse sometimes; I try to not curse.

‘Aside from Beau’s birth, which obviously goes in a ten scale of happiness and joy, this f***ing year has been s***. It’s been awful.

‘It started in January with my mother being diagnosed with cancer, and I thought, “This seems like it’s a s****y start to the year”.

‘Little did I know that a pandemic was going to take over and ruin everyone’s lives as well…’

The X Factor judge continued: ‘Because of this pandemic, I haven’t been able to actually touch her or hold her since February, and I’m now many miles apart from her and I can’t get to her.

‘And yesterday was the first realisation that I’m not going to see my mom for Christmas. I’m going to be miles and miles apart from her for the first time, I think, in my whole life.’

However, Ayda refuses to let COVID-19 ‘take away her precious Christmas’ and that there will still be ‘some Terry’s Chocolate Oranges involved, there’s going to be lots of gin and tonic and too much wine’.

She added: ‘I want to be really careful with my language, because when I say a rebellious streak, it’s not rebellious in terms of against the rules and regulations, because I think those are essential to us actually getting rid of this f***ing nightmare.

‘But I feel this rebellious streak. It’s like Covid has taken away so much from so many people, from everyone that I know, and just speaking for myself, I f***ing refuse to let Covid take away my precious Christmas.

‘Because Christmas is something I look forward to every year. It is literally in my being. Like, if I could live in North Pole and be friends with the elves, I would. I’d live part time in the North Pole.’

At the end of September, Ayda hilariously detailed the extremely shaky start to her relationship with Robbie.

Speaking on the Made By Mammas podcast, she revealed that when she first met the pop star, he suggested they go on a date, however she said: ‘And then that day I never f***ing heard from him!’

Ayda and Robbie began dating in 2007 before marrying in his home in the Mulholland Estates, Beverly Hills in August 2010.

The happy couple share Theodora, eight, Charlton, five, Colette, two, and seven-month-old Beau, whose arrival was a surprise to fans on Valentine’s Day.

In the podcast, Ayda spoke about meeting Robbie, saying: ‘Finally he suggested lunch one day, and I said ‘Okay, let’s meet for lunch.’ And then that day I never f***ing heard from him!’ And I was like ‘Oh you b*****d!’

When the date finally went ahead, she explained: ‘We finally end up making a plan. All I’ll say is it was the most bizarre, insane, rockstar, popstar, crazy first date. And at the end of it, I was totally smitten…

‘I was super impressed by the tattoos because I had never dated a guy with tattoos.’
