It’s the question many a Bachelor in Paradise fan has been asking: why do the female contestants wear necklaces with their initials on them?
And it seems the mystery has finally been solved, as an insider has revealed the odd jewellery actually serves a practical purpose during filming.
The production insider told Woman’s Day on Monday that the necklaces were used to help cast members remember each other’s names.

Many participants ‘genuinely didn’t know who some of the others were’ because the cast included stars from different seasons from 2015 to 2019, the source explained.
‘So producers came up with a way to help everyone remember everyone else’s names – and it worked!’ they added.
During her brief stint on the show, Abbie Chatfield wore a striking gold necklace with the letter A, while Helena Sauzier wore one with the letter H.

Brittany Hockley also wore a necklace featuring a small bumble bee – a subtle hint at the first letter of her name.
Meanwhile, several of the men sported woven, tropical-looking necklaces on set.
Disguised as fashion accessories, these accessories were actually used to carry microphones.

More than just an accessory: Meanwhile, many male contestants have been seen sporting woven, tropical-looking necklaces on-set. Pictured: Glenn Smith wearing a microphone necklace
These clever devices were particularly useful when a male contestant wasn’t wearing a shirt and had nowhere to attach a clip-on microphone.
The alternative option during filming was for the men to strap a microphone pack to their torso using a flesh-toned waistband.
Timm Hanly was spotted wearing such a waistband during the premiere episode.
