The Bachelorette’s runner-up Todd King reveals the REAL reason Ali Oetjen and Taite Radley split – and the telling sign their romance was in trouble

Ali Oetjen recently announced her split from Taite Radley after two years together.

And now her heartbroken runner-up from The Bachelorette, Todd King, has broken his silence on the possible reason for the couple’s break-up.

Todd told the So Dramatic podcast on Monday that Ali seemed to have ‘sacrificed a lot’ to make Taite happy, which may have caused tension in their relationship.

Todd, who is now a qualified police officer, said: ‘It seems to me that she sacrificed a lot of what she wanted to fit into his life.’

The fact Taite hadn’t proposed after two years of dating was a potential sign the pair were growing apart, Todd added.

He said was ‘a little bit strange that after a couple years they weren’t engaged’ because Ali had often said on The Bachelorette that she wanted to settle down and have children.

‘Taite was just so iffy about whether he waned to commit. It might sound like I’m bitter, but even at the end what he said to her, it seemed half-a***d.’

Admitting that he ceased contact with Taite after the series wrapped filming, Todd said he ‘didn’t see [the split] coming’ and found it ‘sad’ for Ali.

‘It seems to me that Ali sacrificed a lot of what she wanted to fit into his [Taite’s] life,’ Todd said.

‘From what she told me two years ago, she had a pattern of doing that. A pattern she was trying to get out of. Maybe that was it, or they fell out of love quickly.’

When asked if he would ever consider dating Ali again, the police offer, who is in a relationship, quickly retorted: ‘Not a chance.’

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Ali Oetjen and Taite Radley for comment.

Meanwhile, fans previously speculated that Ali and Taite had really broken up due to the coronavirus pandemic, as the couple spent 88 days apart in lockdown.

‘It’s this damn pandemic, the stress is bringing out the worst in all of us,’ one fan commented on Instagram below Ali’s break-up post.

They added: ‘Don’t worry, you and your man will reconnect once all this c**p is over.’

Another added: ‘Very sad news – sorry to hear this. Distance and time apart is not an easy thing for a relationship.’

Ali and Taite announced their split in July, confirming that they were ‘taking time apart’ and giving each other ‘some space’.
