Bebe Rexha responds to paltry ‘upsetting’ debut of her new album: ‘My career was built on failures’

‘Upsetting but I won’t give up!’: Bebe Rexha responds to low sales for her sophomore album Better Mistakes as she says her career was ‘built on failures’

Her latest album Better Mistakes dropped earlier this month, but unfortunately it seems to be suffering from what is known as the sophomore slump.

And Bebe Rexha readily acknowledged her second album’s paltry debut, responding to a Tweet on Monday that announced its placement all the way down at #140 on the Billboard 200 chart.

‘Upsetting,’ the 31-year-old pop star wrote. ‘But I won’t give up. My career was built on failures and not following the mold.’

‘I won’t stop. I never have and never will,’ she continued in the confessional note. ‘I still believe in this album. And I still will push. No matter what.’

Better Mistakes is Bebe’s follow up to her 2018 debut studio album Expectations, and it dropped on May 7.

The record features guests including Travis Barker, Ty Dolla Sign, Trevor Daniel, Lil Uzi Vert, Doja Cat, Pink Sweats, Lunay and Rick Ross.

In spite of those buzzy collaborators and singles including Baby, I’m Jealous, Sacrifice, Sabotage and Die For A Man, the album has only so far reached the #129 slot on the Rolling Stone album chart.

Nonetheless, Rexha, born Bleta Rexha, is pushing ahead with a livestream event for Better Mistakes later this week.

Also on Monday, she took to Instagram with a selfie from the album, counting down to the livestream with a note specifying ‘just three days’ until the event.

‘Seeing your reactions to the album has made me even more excited,’ she added in the missive.
