Beyonce’s mother Tina Knowles goes after a troll who criticized her ‘corny joke’: ‘Try to conjure up a little respect’

She raised and mentored one of the most successful and influential musicians of the past few decades.

And Beyoncé’s mother Tina Knowles wasn’t afraid to demand a smidge of respect for her contributions after a troll took aim at her on Instagram on Friday.

The 66-year-old entrepreneur got the negative reaction after sharing a ‘corny joke’ to lighten up the mood for her 2.3 million Instagram followers.

Fighting back: Tina Knowles, 66, clapped back at a social media troll on Friday who criticized a ‘corny joke’ she told on Instagram while staying home amid the coronavirus outbreak

On Thursday, Tina tried to boost people’s moods and lessen their cabin fever with one of her hilariously awful jokes.

She appeared in a short video clip recorded at home wearing a black top and with crisp bangs and thick caramel-colored curls cascading down her shoulders.

‘It’s Thursday morning. Pretty chill,’ she began.

‘So, did you hear about the corduroy pillows?’ she continued, clearly reading off her screen.

‘Yeah, they’re making headlines,’ she said, snorting as she held in a laugh. ‘Headlines in your head when you lay on, you know.’

The harmless joke seems to have set off one social media troll, who also took a stab at Tina’s appearance while at it.

‘Girl, take them bangs and disappear with your daughter and grandchildren for a little while. We don’t need this right now,’ they wrote.

The former hairstylist kept her cool while putting the angry poster in her place.

‘Try to conjure up a little respect,’ she wrote in a since-deleted response. ‘And secondly, if you don’t need it then get off my page and go where you like what you see. With love.’

Multiple fans also chimed in with Tina.

‘i can’t believe there are 93 people liking a hateful message…. and girl, you are not livin your best life if you are just bitter and hateful,’ wrote one user.

Others echoed Tina’s call for respect.

‘Wow the disrespect for our elders is out of line! Your parents didn’t raise you right! You need help!!!!!’ wrote another person.

Others were more biting in their comments, like one person who joked: ‘Girl you got the CORONA VIRUS IN YOUR WEAVE.’

Tina’s corny jokes used to be a regular feature on her Instagram page, but the Knowles family matriarch hasn’t been posting as much in the wake of what she called a ‘serious knee surgery.’

Later on Saturday, she explained that she’d had total knee replacement surgery six weeks ago and had been recovering.

The procedure seemed to go well, and she said she was down to minimal pain, which she could manage just with over-the-counter pain relievers.

Tina showed her fans a closeup of her pink scar and compared it with the faded scare from her other knee, which she replaced six years ago.

Octavia Spencer wished her a ‘Speedy painfree recovery’ in the comments, as did plenty of other well-wishers.
