Big Brother reboot is rocked by a major ‘stuff-up’ during the first eviction

Channel Seven’s Big Brother is rocked by a major ‘stuff-up’ during the first eviction after a crew member forgot to press RECORD

Channel Seven’s reboot of Big Brother ran into technical difficulties during the first eviction.

According to industry website TV Blackbox, producers were forced to re-shoot the elimination because it wasn’t recorded.

The EVS, a digital video recorder-like device, was supposed to be capturing the eviction but failed to do so.

The crew member operating the EVS apparently ‘stuffed up’ and the scene had to be filmed again.

The evicted housemate was sent back into the house and had to act surprised by their elimination.

‘The biggest stuff-up in Big Brother history has happened where they haven’t recorded an eviction,’ TV Blackbox Rob McKnight said on Friday.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Channel Seven for comment.

On Thursday, Big Brother host Sonia Kruger addressed concerns about the safety of housemates amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

She said the isolated contestants were being kept away from crew members who enter the compound from outside.

‘We’re making sure, obviously, that there’s space between those camera [crews], they’re distanced from the housemates. There’s a wall in between them,’ she said.

Sonia previously hosted Big brother on the Nine Network’s from 2012 to 2014.
