Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell opened up about their songwriting process as they continue to create record-breaking debut music together. 

As the Grammy award-winning sibling duo spoke of their ‘creative space’ in a new video for Spotify HiFi on Monday, the 19-year-old Therefore I Am hitmaker said they like ‘sunlight,’ a ‘good sound system’ and ‘good base.’ 

O’Connell agreed and noted that they also need ‘giant loud speakers.’

When they collaborate with other artists, he joked they often have to tell them to turn up the volume. 

‘High quality audio means more info, there are things you will not hear if you don’t have a good sound system,’ Eilish stressed. ‘It’s really important because we make music that wants to be heard the way it was made.’

O’Connell, who has been cowriting and producing music for his sister for years, stated that the way their listeners hear their music is the ‘most important’ thing to them.

Additionally, she wore her signature black locks with neon-green roots in pin-straight strands. 

Meanwhile, O’Connell wore a beige button-down with a jeweled collar and baby blue trousers as they sat outside on a couch. 

A trailer for her upcoming documentary The World’s A Little Blurry, which dropped earlier this month, recently showed the pair recording music in their childhood home.

In the preview the teen is seen getting into her parents’ bed while telling the camera crew: ‘I sleep in here because I’m scared of monsters.’

Billie’s mother Maggie Baird then said: ‘I honestly don’t know how any artist of any age is doing it without a parent.’

She went on: ‘It is a horrible time to be a teenager, kids are depressed.’

Directed by R.J. Cutler, the documentary is described as a coming-of-age story of the singer while on her journey to global stardom.

It is said to offer an intimate look into her life at 17 and how she navigated life on the road and being on stage, as well as her time at home with her family where she recorded her debut album.

The World’s A Little Blurry will be released in cinemas in the US and is set to premiere globally on Apple TV+ on February 26, 2021.
