British Olympic Association chairman Sir Hugh Robertson has called on the Government to decide whether athletes can receive vaccines ahead of the Tokyo Games.
Pfizer have offered fast-track vaccinations for all Olympic and Paralympic athletes, but the Government are cautious about giving preferential treatment to fit, young athletes, even though the vaccines have been donated.
The BOA remain hopeful that all members of Team GB will be vaccinated before flying to Yokohama and Kawasaki for their pre-Games training camps at the start of July, but are increasingly concerned about running out of time.

‘We are hopeful of getting all athletes vaccinated,’ Robertson told Sportsmail.
‘It is important for this to happen soon to assure our hosts in Tokyo that we are doing all we can to keep their population safe.’
