Hackney Police said: ‘At 11:55hrs on Thursday, 10 December, police were contacted by staff at a school in Clissold Road, Stoke Newington #Hackney.

‘The school had received a bomb threat. The school was evacuated and officers are in attendance. Cordon are in place whilst police investigate.’

One mother whose Year 11 child goes to the school, told MailOnline: ‘Well I know that Year 11s are doing mocks at the moment.

‘But my year 11 is at home because he’s isolating, so I don’t know if it’s a hoax, I don’t know.

‘If it is then I would say it’s a pretty sick thing to do. If it’s not then… I don’t know it’s just a bit of a shock I guess.

‘The school let us know straight away and told us where they were. Most were dismissed but we don’t live that close so I had to come and get my other one.’

Parents took to social media to express concerns about their children.

One wrote: ‘I got a message from my child saying the police are outside the school and everyone has to go to the park.’

Another added: ‘My son said they’re all safe in park but none of the teachers know what’s going on.’

The students were then lined up on a park near the school before being sent home as officers swooped on the site
