Horror in Hackney: Car ploughs into pedestrians leaving ‘several people with serious injuries’ – as paramedics treat victims on east London street

A car has ploughed into pedestrians in Hackney, East London, amid fears several are seriously injured.

Emergency services including ambulance and fire crews are at the scene in the Stamford Hill area.  

Paramedics are treating people along a stretch of main road. At one end a grey car is seen crashed into a tree. Further down a bus shelter appears to have been smashed. 

Scotland Yard are not treating it as a terrorist attack at this stage.

A spokesperson said: ‘A car is reported to have mounted the pavement and struck a number of pedestrians.

‘We await an update on any injuries. At this early stage, this incident is not being treated as terror-related.

‘Enquiries are ongoing; no arrests have been made.’
