Cardi B shows support for ‘sooo talented’ Teyana Taylor after she announced retirement from music

Teyana Taylor recently shocked fans with the announcement that she’s retiring from music.

But the BET Award winner is receiving love and support from fans and some famous friends in the industry.

Cardi B was one of the celebs who took to Twitter Friday to show her support for the We Got Love artist and her latest album, following the bombshell announcement.

The 29-year-old wrote: ‘If you know me then you know Teyana Taylor’s album it’s my favorite of 2020. I swear she really got the best album this year. I hate that she feels how she feels cause she sooo talented and the music is soo good.’

Taylor, 29, retweeted and reciprocated the praise, writing: ‘I appreciate you for always genuinely showing me raw & real love.’

It comes after she took to Instagram Friday to announce her retirement, citing feelings of being ‘underappreciated’ and ‘overlooked.’

She posted her 2020 Artist Wrapped summary from Spotify, revealing an impressive 162.8million streams of her music this year, writing: ‘Wow, who did that? Y’all did that! Thank you.’

The After Party actress added: ‘I ain’t gone front in times of feeling super under appreciated as a artist, receiving little to no real push from the “machine”, constantly getting the shorter end of the stick, being overlooked, I mean the list on and on lol.. 

‘I’m retiring this chapter of my story with the comfort that i can depart with peace of mind seeing that all the hard work & passion put in was indeed loved & supported somewhere in the world! 

‘To all my supporters from day 1 & all my new ones I love you and I thank you for everything & don’t worry y’all know all hustlers have the understanding that when one door closes another will open…either that or I’m pickin da locks petunia!!! So wassup.’

‘I’m blasting the @RecordingAcad for failing ALL the women that has been putting in work. Women are clearly being overlooked here. WOMEN PLAYS A BIG PART IN CARRYING R&B.’
