She recently announced she would be taking a leave of absence from The Talk in order to focus on her well-being.

Now an insider has shed more light into Carrie Ann Inaba’s recent health struggles.

Speaking with People, a source revealed the star, 53, had been experiencing autoimmune flare-ups.

‘She has experienced some recent flare ups and taking this time to remove stress and focus on her body and its healing is important,’ the source said.

‘She is really positive, and she has always put her health first,’ the insider added.

‘Rather than suffering through a flare up, she is sharing that you can be open and honest about autoimmune issues which in turn helps others not be afraid to ask for the time and tools they need to heal.’

Carrie announced to fans on Monday that she would be taking a hiatus from the show in order to focus on her health.
