As Frances Price, the 62-year-old Oscar nominee sounds like a whispery Samantha Jones scoffing: ‘My plan was to die before the money ran out, but I kept on [not] dying so here I am!’
Frances is on the verge of an emotional breakdown while under the impression that her talking cat Small Frank embodies the spirit of her dead husband Frank.
Dropped Wednesday! Sony Pictures Classics released the trailer for French Exit starring Michelle Pfeiffer (L) as a penniless Manhattan widow moving to Paris with her son Malcolm (R) and pet cat (M)
‘We’re going to lie down,’ Price says to Malcolm while wagging her kitty’s paw.
‘Will you come visit us later?’
And while the preview for the surreal comedy doesn’t linger on the character of the cat, he was in fact voiced by two-time Tony winner Tracy Letts.
Frances goes from crying about how similar her son Malcolm (Lucas Hedges) is to her, to setting an actual fire at her restaurant table.
