Grant Denyer’s wife Chezzi has reflected upon her recent battle with hyperemesis gravidarum, a severe form of morning sickness.

The 41-year-old suffered from the debilitating condition during her recent pregnancy with daughter Sunday, and took to Instagram over the weekend to reflect on her health battle.

‘Just looking at these pictures makes me feel queasy,’ the mother-of-three wrote next to a collage of images showing herself in hospital battling the illness.

‘Just looking at these pictures makes me feel queasy’: Grant Denyer’s wife Chezzi, 41, reflected upon her recent battle with hyperemesis gravidarum, a severe form of morning sickness, on Instagram over the weekend

‘Very early pregnant and unable to eat or drink. I survived by visiting my local hospital three times a week for bags of fluids,’ she continued.

‘I would spend nearly five to six hours of the day hooked up to the drips, trying to pass the time by watching the roof or if I had the energy I would put the television on and watch the first channel that came on,’ Chezzi went on.

Chezzi revealed she often felt ‘freezing’ and threw up ‘all the time, day and night’ as a result of her ailment.

‘I sucked on Zofran wafers (developed for chemo patients) three times a day to try keep some of the fluids from being brought up. I felt miserable. Sad. Unwell. Like I could die.’

She continued: ‘When I was 12 weeks pregnant I had lost over 10 kilograms. I spent over three months bedridden. Barely able to change myself. Lying listless on my bed until my husband or my Mum came to help me.’

Chezzi went on to remind her fans that hyperemesis gravidarum is ‘no joke’ as it can be ‘life threatening’.

‘I had it with all three of my girls, however it was much worse each time I fell pregnant. I hung on during that excruciating period knowing that one day soon I would hold my treasured baby in my arms,’ she wrote.

‘Each day was not only a physical challenge for me, but it was a mental challenge too as some days the guilt from being unable to care for my other children became too much,’ Chezzi added.

Chezzi revealed she decided to share her story to support and give hope to others who are currently suffering from the same illness.

‘Please know you are not alone. There is help out there if you need it!’ she wrote.
