The Voice Australia star Chris Sebastian reveals how he struggled to process his grief after wife Natasha’s devastating miscarriage

Chris Sebastian and wife Natasha suffered a devastating miscarriage in the second trimester of her pregnancy, back in November 2018.

And now The Voice Australia star has spoken candidly about how he struggled to process his grief at the time.

Speaking to Who Magazine this week, the 31-year-old admitted that he tried to hide his feelings and tried to come across as the ‘strong one’ in the relationship.

‘I put unrealistic pressure on myself’: The Voice Australia star Chris Sebastian revealed this week how he struggled to process his grief after his wife Natasha’s devastating miscarriage in November 2018 (the pair are pictured during her pregnancy with newborn daughter Ava)

‘I put this unrealistic pressure on myself to be the man and not be upset or show emotion and I wish I didn’t,’ Chris told the publication.

At the time, Chris penned a song called Soon, which he said helped him through the pain.

Speaking about the track, he said: ‘I wanted it to be sad and for people to feel sadness and I tried that for about an hour but nothing came out so then I reversed it and started thinking more positively.’

Chris said that he eventually showed his wife his vulnerable side, and it bought them closer together.

‘I remember when I showed that side to Tash – it kind of brought us that little bit closer together because we’re both in this together so just being honest and okay with feelings. You’re never alone,’ he told the publication.

The loved-up couple have since welcomed newborn daughter Ava together, who was born in March.

Chris meanwhile, auditioned for The Voice Australia on Monday’s episode.

However, many viewers have claimed Guy Sebastian’s brother should not have been allowed to audition on this year’s show because his family link made it ‘unfair’ on the other contestants.

Chris Sebastian, 31, had anticipated the backlash, however, and denied the competition was ‘rigged’ before his audition had even aired.

Speaking to Woman’s Day on Monday, Chris said he had already ‘ruled out’ choosing Guy as his mentor because he wanted to step out of his brother’s shadow.

He said: ‘I had him ruled out from the beginning. I’d hate people to think I wasn’t there for my own abilities or it was rigged.

He added: ‘I didn’t want anyone to think I was getting special treatment.’
