‘It’s an honour to be the official ambassador for this year’s White Shirt Campaign. I work hard to help to encourage women to love how they look and respect their bodies in their natural form, ovaries and all,’ Celeste said in a statement.

‘I was incredibly shocked to learn that invasive surgery is currently the only way to detect and accurately diagnose ovarian cancer. Vital research is needed to find a non-invasive, early detection alternative, that is readily available to all women.

‘I am wearing this year’s shirt to show my dedication to the countless victims of this insidious disease. I am proud of women all over the country for also showing their support,’ said Barber.

It comes after the comedian – who first starred in medical drama All Saints in 2005 – said she ‘hates being called an influencer’.

Celeste rose to fame by recreating outrageous celebrity photos from the likes of Kim Kardashian, Bella Hadid and Jennifer Lopez as far back as 2015.

She has since amassed a following of 7.9million, including big names such as Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Paris Hilton.

Despite the huge fan base, she said: ‘I’m an actor, a comedian and a writer, and I happen to be a bit famous now for doing stuff that resonates with people who don’t always feel great about themselves. That’s how I look at it.’

The Sydney-born star noted that she doesn’t take her audience’s trust for granted and has turned down certain jobs that have offered her money and fame.

‘So I really take my time in working out what I do because I don’t want to be known as an influencer. I want to be known for making people laugh and giving a sh** about what I put out in an already very noisy world,’ she added.
